Centre Point Sabah Shopping Mall is again this year the home of FIGHT FEST This is the 3rd Fight Fest in Centerpoint and it has always been a great venue bringing in huge crowd.
This year is the 4th Fight Fest and it is collaborating with Persatuan Muaythai Negeri Sabah to host Muaythai, and ISKA SEA for K1 Kickboxing & Exhibition Boxing.
Aptly named Fight Fest: Heavy Artillery, this 4th edition is an all striking affair which we the organiser feel is a better leverage to draw crowd compared to grappling (this also coincided that Copa De Borneo was held a week prior). Not just in terms of crowds but in participation, this is also the highest so far with a total of 174 fighters participated (110 from Muaythai, 64 from Fight Fest).
Sabah Muaythai is taking this opportunity to host SABAH MUAYTHAI EXPO: ROAD TO SAGA which will serve as a platform for Muaythai Fighters of age 15 to 20 with less than 5 bouts to fight & stand a chance to be selected for potential selection in SAGA games this December. This project is spear headed by Coach @Dhilon Tahing who also recently won Best State Coach Award by MSN.
Don’t miss the 1st Fight Fest Trophy Super Fight between Malaysia 1st deaf pro fighter, SUNNY “THE Silencer” Sabornido of Labuan Deaf Combat Gym vs Joel NightChaos of Sabah Top Team.
Sunny is a Muaythai specialist & has won multiple titles. He is a active fighter, in April he won the STRIKE – ISKA 57kg Kickboxing belt in Brunei. Two weeks ago, he fought Shah Ahmad for Mibobog Muaythai Challenge 60kg belt but lost, so in Fight Fest IV, he will be eager to go home with the title.
Joel Nickolson is a seasoned MMA athlete, with a 7-3-0 amateur record. Although he is well versed in grappling from his training in Brazilian Luta Livre but striking is first nature to him as his based is TaeKwon-Do. Joel has not been competing for a year due to work commitment & healing injuries. He is eager to kickstart his comeback with a win over a capable rival in Sunny.
