40 seconds that’s all it took for Conor to win by TKO, even after a 15 months layoff.
At the bell, Conor lunges forward and threw his famous left hand, infact he actually over commit to that punch leaving his left left behind ( GSP review before this that the power in Conor’s left hand is that he brings forward his left leg ). Cowboy duck under that punch and clinched.
Then the interesting thing happened… the shoulder bump. Usually it’s use to free your hand, but Conor’s shoulder bump did damage, broke Cowboy’s nose and hurt his left eye.
Dazed Cowboy retreat and Conor connect with a left high kick , drops Cowboy and finished him with punches.
It’s not a surprise for this win for Conor as he goes into this fight with the right frame of mind without being emotional. You can see he is supremely confident this time without being arrogant and there was not much thrash talking pre fight. He went over to Cowboy after the victory and embraced him. This was a fight in welterweight, Conor didnt have to cut lots of weight.
So what’s next for Conor? vs Masvidal ? rematch Khabib? vs Kamaru Usman? Highly likely it’s vs Masvidal. Coz Khaibib vs Ferguson is in April. Masvidal is fresh and Conor just had an injured free fast victory. Conor did say he likes that BMF title…. that will be an absolutely great match-up…for the Ultimate BMF title
