#ONEChampionship : Bad BloodInterim Heavyweight Title on the line. Russian Anatoly Malykhin predicted a 3rd round KO, but he outdo himself by settling the bout in the 2nd round as he catches Kirill Grishenko’s chin with his right hand right after he missed one.
This interim belt was put up as negotiations with Heavyweight Champion Arjan Bhullar didn’t go anyway. Arjan won the title in May2021 by defeating long time champion Brandon Vera, but he has not defended it since. Apparently Arjan’s management team is the same team that manages UFC Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, whom is also in a dispute with UFC over pay & fighter’s rights.
Anatoly has been wanting to fight Arjan for the title and called Arjan a chicken for stalling it. After his win tonight Anatoly repeated his call of Arjan a chicken and is looking forward to the reunification title fight.
For his performance tonight, Anatoly not only won the beautiful ONE title belt but also won the fight bonus….not one but two as ONE CEO Chatri announces that he is awarding Anatoly with a double bonus = USD100,000
