It couldn’t have ended better for Philipines tonight at ONE Championship: Roots of Honor. Co-main event Team Lakay Joshua ‘The Passion’ Pacio stepped into the cage in a rematch with defending Straw weight champion Yosuke Saruta of Japan.
Oddly for a Straw weight bouts, the fights for 4 round was not fast pace as both fighters were very cautious. Both looking for opening and want to land the knockout blow. Joshua was successful with a few back kick, but Saruta blitz and was successful in the take down.

In the fourth round Joshua connected with a knee to Saruta’s head that dropped him face down, hence crowning Joshua the new Straw weight World Champion!
Manila was cheering mad! Team Lakay’s lost all the belt they won before this, but tonight Joshua shows that they never gave up. His victory is their first step in winning it all back and perhaps more.
