Aung La N Sang had his 7 fight win streak was broken in Oct last year ( 2020 ) when he lost his his Light Heavyweight title to Reinier de Ridder (RDR)

In April 2021, in a planned rematch with Vitaly Bigdash, defending his Middleweight title was cancel and RDR steps up in short notice to again battle with Aung La, and again Aung La lost to RDR.

In tonight Middleweigh battle in ONE Championship Battleground will be The Burmese Python path to building back his way up to the top. In his way is Brazilian Leandro Ataides, whom is moving down a weight class to challenge Aung La.

Leandro himself lost to RDR in his last fight in FEB 2020. But he is training with RDR to prepare himself to spoil Aung La’s plan to get back on track.

RDR gave a lot of trouble to Aung La in the last two fights as he dominate with great grappling making use of his tall build. Leandro built is similar to Aung La, but will his learnings from RDR give him an edge? Or will Aung La come up with a winning game plan this time to break his two loss skid.
