A Key Pillar in Sabah’s Muaythai Roadmap

Within Sabah Muaythai’s long-term development plan, SAGA sits as a major biennial event in the third quarter of the year, positioned strategically before SUKMA and just below the Sabah Muaythai Championship (SMC). The games serve as a critical platform for talent scouting, helping identify promising athletes to represent Sabah in national and international tournaments.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As the focus shifts to SUKMA in September 2026, Sabah Muaythai’s roadmap for 2026 emphasizes continuous athlete development through smaller, focused tournaments such as:

  • Sabah Muaythai Championship (SMC) 2026
  • SME Rookie Challenge
  • SME U15 Cup
  • SME Ladies Cup
  • SME Cultural & Heritage Series

These events are designed to motivate athletes, sharpen their skills, and build momentum toward SAGA 2027 — ensuring a steady pipeline of young warriors ready to make their mark.

As the dust settles in Tawau, one thing is clear: the future of Sabah Muaythai is bright, deeply rooted in tradition, and powered by the relentless spirit of its athletes.
