Born in Terengganu and raised in Klang and Shah Alam, Dhiaaul Amal Bin Othman grew up in a family where discipline and athleticism were a way of life. His father, a retired engineer who once practiced judo, and his mother, a former teacher active in track and field, instilled in him the values of focus and perseverance.

The youngest of eight siblings, Dhiaaul shares an especially close bond with his elder brother Naimul, who first inspired him to take up martial arts. The two have been inseparable in their training journey — sparring together since childhood, pushing each other’s limits, and even facing off in competition. One of the most memorable moments came during the 2015 MIMMA season 3 Flyweight contender fight, where the brothers met inside the cage. The emotional bout became a defining moment for Dhiaaul, teaching him the importance of emotional control in combat.

Over the years, Dhiaaul has carved an impressive record across multiple disciplines. He was the 2017 ONE Silat Championship finalist, 2018 MIMMA Season 5 Bantamweight Champion, 2019 F3 Freestyle Champion, 2019 PUSAKA Freestyle Champion, and 2019 Malaysia Fight League (MFL) Boxing Champion. In 2024, Dhiaaul and his brother Naimul performed during Khabib Nurmagomedov’s visit to Kuala Lumpur — a proud moment representing Malaysia’s combat sports community.

Outside the cage, Dhiaaul works as a personal trainer, but his martial arts identity goes far beyond competition. Known for performing Silat movements before entering the ring, Dhiaaul believes that Silat is the essence of Malay identity — a way to stay calm, control his breathing, and honor his cultural roots. He practices Silat Gerak Angin and Silat Baji Harimau, combining their movements with his own rhythm and composure before every fight.

Interestingly, his first love was boxing. At the age of five, he was inspired by Sarawakian boxer Sapok Biki’s gold medal win at the 1998 Commonwealth Games — a moment that sparked playful sparring sessions with his brother. Their shared passion sometimes got too real; once, Naimul knocked out Dhiaaul’s tooth during a wrestling session, and the two brothers kept it a secret from their mother.

Now, years later, Dhiaaul stands ready for one of his biggest tests — competing in Indonesia’s prestigious ONE Pride 88 – Battle for Glory on November 2nd. He will face Sukma Prawira Aditya, a homegrown favorite with a 6–4–0 record. For this fight, Dhiaaul has intensified his boxing training under longtime coach and corner man Joe Lorenzo, while sharpening his grappling and MMA skills with Coach Khyn of PRIME MMA and his brother Naimul of STRIVE.

To young fighters entering the sport, his advice is clear: be serious in training, stay humble, and never give up.

Armed with that spirit, Dhiaaul Amal steps into the cage — carrying not just his fighting skill, but the soul of silat and the pride of his heritage.
